June-September 1977 TWA Schedule
Well, time to get things started!
Here the front and the route map for a 1977 TWA Schedule. Advertising “TWA’s Widebody 1011. The most advanced plane in the world.”
This was still a time before they centralized on St. Louis at the domestic hub. Flying from such places as Phoenix->San Francisco (a flight I took quite a few times in the early eighties, before we ended up moving to Phoenix.) I remember it being on 707’s mostly.

Before deregulation in 1978, airline route structures were very interesting to say the least. How did someone in Seattle fly to Syracuse? Without a strong hub-and-spoke system, it appears you may have had to connect at 2 or 3 different airports to make that trip.

Mike –
You probably would have connected at Chicago-O’Hare. However, before deregulation, you would often have to change airlines at a major airport. When my Dad flew from SEA-TYS (Knoxville, TN), he would fly NW from SEA-ORD and switch to DL from ORD-TYS. Before deregulation, DL didn’t even fly to SEA (although its future merger partner Western did).
