While looking at some old commercials on YouTube, I came across this video from KABC in Los Angeles in 1980.
If you jump to 1:05 into the video, you’ll see a commercial from TWA where “Kids Fly Free*” (* not on Florida or Arizona routes. I wonder why not AZ.)
And of course, the great 1980’s slogan: “You’re going to like us, TWA!” One of their best.

Today’s link is a video of a Boeing 727 landing at STL. All hand-flown, it’s very cool to hear the sounds of the cockpit.
Here’s a commercial from 1980 featuring the L1011. Of course, this is probably also around the time the DC-10 was having problems, so they really wanted to ‘push’ the L1011, for good reason.
And a steak? In coach? Wow. Who doesn’t miss those days. 
Here’s a great video from Tom Vance/Vapor Trails Video. This is an L1011 taking off from SFO in the early 90’s.
Little trivia: I used to live in San Bruno just across from the TWA hangar, the 101, and the railroad tracks back in the early 80’s. Good times. I also remember playing hide and seek in some of the 707 cargo containers they used to have next to the TWA hangar there, while we were waiting for the crew bus a few times.

Yep, still alive. With the heat coming in beautiful Arizona, you start to find yourself slowing down.
Here is a commercial on YouTube from 1997. This commercial definitely shows the optimism TWA and its employees had for their future.
Also, for those of you planning on attending the Los Angeles Airline Memorabilia Show on June 9th, 2007, I was planning on making a trip out there. Hopefully pick up some more items to feature on this website.
